Following his extensive work digging up unused enemies and a scrapped time-of-day mechanic, Lance McDonald has discovered another Bloodborne boss that didn’t make the cut. I’m of two minds.

On the one hand, we can never have enough From Software boss battles. I treasure them all, even the obvious filler fights. On the other hand, this creature is repulsive and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near it. I always dread the Forbidden Woods strictly due to the snake-headed men who roam the area and all of those horrible tangled-up snake mounds. Those guys make my skin crawl. I just can’t.
“We knew there was a boss called ‘snake boss’ since I datamined all the unused Fresh Liver names earlier this year, but no one had seen the boss itself until now,” said McDonald. “Excited to show the whole fight.” He believes From Soft intended to put the boss in the Chalice Dungeons, noting that he “was able to extract its AI from the dungeon AI set, where they’d accidentally left a copy behind.”
I’ll be curious to see this slithering boss in action. From a safe distance, of course. (Update: It’s here!)
