How to get Water Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

How to get Water Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

I choose you, Vaporeon

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, some stones can be found through simply purchasing them in the shop: Water Stones are among that crowd. You can also find some for free! Here’s where to pick them up.

What do Water Stones do in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Like many stones in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, only a few Pokemon actually evolve via Water Stones. To use them, fish them out of your bag, and use them directly on an eligible Pokemon.

Here’s a full list of Generation 9 Pokemon that can evolve through Water Stone use:

  • Shelder -> Cloyster
  • Eevee -> Vaporeon

You can find a Water Stone in the overworld

One Water Stone can be located at a fixed location near Cascarrafa. It’s directly behind the gym, on a raised shelf, near a stream.

The full location details are in the gallery above.

Your Pokedex will give you one for free once you’ve caught 80 Pokemon

After catching 80 Pokemon and recording them in your Pokedex, go to the Pokedex menu (X) and earn it from the reward track.

You can find the full breakdown of the Pokedex reward system here.

Buying them directly at a Delibird Presents shop is the quickest way

Unlocked by defeating three gyms, Water Stones can be purchased at Delibird Presents shops across Paldea. They only cost 3,000 Pokedollars, so it isn’t even something that you’ll need to break the bank for. Locate them through the general goods section.

We have a full Delibird Presents guide here for reference, including all shop locations.
