There are all kinds of different Aniimo you can collect while exploring, with plenty of rare variants you’ll likely be eager to add to your collection. One type of Aniimo you might be on the hunt for is Umbral.
Tracking down any specific type of Aniimo variant is tricky, as luck plays a large role in how easy or difficult it is to do so. A lot of it comes down to random chance, but there are still some key methods you can use to make the process a bit easier. Here’s how to get Umbral Aniimo in Aniimo.

Where to find Umbral Aniimo
Overall, finding Umbral Aniimo mostly comes down to luck and random chance being on your side. There are a few different methods you can use to try and get them, but ultimately, all of these methods rely on luck, and there’s no real way to guarantee you find one.

All ways to obtain Umbral Aniimo
As of the time of writing, there are three key ways to obtain an Umbral Aniimo. Additional methods may be added in future updates, so if they are, we’ll add them here. For now, though, here are all the ways you can obtain Umbral Aniimo.
- Open Umbral Aniimo Eggs. The overall best and only guaranteed method for acquiring Umbral Aniimo is hatching Umbral Aniimo Eggs. You can earn these eggs in the Operation: Egg Heist mode or by digging up egg nests while exploring. Even though this is the best way to obtain Umbral Aniimo, it still ultimately comes down to luck.
- Activate Wild Surges. The second best way to hunt for Umbral Aniimo is by activating Wild Surges around Idyll. You can do this by interacting with a Bloom in any biome. To unlock and use the Bloom in each region, you need to achieve the lowest Collection Badge for that area. When activated, a large swarm of Aniimo will spawn. Catch them all before the timer runs out, and there’s a chance that an Umbral Aniimo or a Prismana Aniimo will appear when it ends.
- Find them out and about in the wild. This is the least common method for finding and acquiring them, but it is certainly possible to spot them while exploring. If you do see one, be sure to snatch them up quickly, and consider using a high-quality Aniipod to guarantee success.
What are Umbral Aniimo?
Umbral Aniimo are primarily a cosmetic skin for Aniimo. They’re starry, dark purple in color, and have glowing pink eyes, making all creatures who take on this form look drastically different from the rest. This variant is also guaranteed to have Perfect potential.
Can you evolve Umbral Aniimo?
You can evolve Umbral Aniimo, but you should generally avoid doing so. As soon as you evolve an Umbral Aniimo, it loses its special appearance forever. The stats and Perfect status remain, but you’ll never be able to get their special Umbral look back. Because of this, you typically don’t want to evolve them at all.
There’s plenty more to tackle in Aniimo, with lots of key quests worth working on while you’re also hunting for Umbral variants. Some good ones to focus on are getting Sparkling Cubes, choosing the best Prismana Pact Aniimo, becoming a Junior Wayfarer, and checking out all Astra shops, vendors, and games.
