The Hallowed Concepts DLC introduces two new survivors in Risk of Rain 2, and one of them is the Acolyte. To play with this survivor, you will first need to unlock her by completing specific in-game tasks.

Knowing what to do will make things easier for you if you are looking to play with her as part of the DLC. Let’s find out how to add the Acolyte to your collection.

How to unlock the Acolyte in Risk of Rain 2

For starters, you will need to have access to the Hallowed Concepts DLC, without which you cannot unlock her. The core objective is to first obtain N’tormat and at least one page.

  • Enable the Hallowed Concepts DLC from the main screen and start a new run.
  • Get the N’tormat and at least one page. You can do this from either a Wake or Trial event.
  • Go to the Bazaar Between Time
  • Jump down, and you’ll locate a gong in the pit. This will help you begin a Trial.
  • You can also complete a Wake event but finding one will depend on your luck.
  • Once you have the N’tormat and at least one page, head to the Shrine of Descent and then complete the applicable Teleporter event. Don’t attempt this before your build is strong enough to take down multiple bosses.
  • Your build must have at least one healing item of any rarity.
  • Once you defeat the boss, enter through the created portal.
  • The Ritual Portal will take you to a new arena. Climb the ramps, and you’ll find a console to interact with.
  • Use the console to trigger a wave of bosses. Kill all of them until you find the Anima Harvester.
  • Defeat the Anima Harvester, and you’ll locate the Acolyte on the ground right next to the exit portal.
  • Give the healing item to her, and you’ll unlock her as a playable character. Make sure it’s a pure healing item, but rarity doesn’t matter.

That’s how you get to add the Acolyte to your collection. Compared to the Enforcer (the other playable survivor of Hallowed Concepts), I like her abilities much more. But then again, you’ll need to put in the extra efforts to first add her to your collection.
