Here’s how to unlock Shovel Knight’s Butt Mode

Along with more than 300 other cheats

In almost every conceivable way, Shovel Knight is a throwback to how videogames used to be a few decades ago. Everything positively oozes that retro style, save for blowing into a cartridge before firing it up. Even the game’s more than 300 cheat codes are modeled after the classic Game Genie format.

One of these cheats stands out as more excellent and useless than all the rest — Butt Mode. Butt Mode simply replaces several recurring words such as “shovel” and “knight” with “butt.” Just enter “WSWWAEAW” as the character’s name at the start of the game, and voilà! Butt Mode engaged!
