Hah, remember Gex? It’s back on GOG.com

Wonder if any of the jokes have aged well

Couple of things about Gex.

First and foremost, the PC version of the original is now available on GOG.com. It’s priced at $5.99 and should be quite the nostalgia trip for some of you. That’s the main reason I’m writing this post.

But the re-release also brought my mind to the next game, Gex: Enter the Gecko, and I got to thinking about its horror-themed world, Scream TV, what with Halloween fast approaching.

It wouldn’t phase me today, but I distinctly remember being weirdly creeped out by the that zone. Specifically, the Chucky-esque possessed doll and those ghosts that either would or wouldn’t come after you while you were standing in the light. Oh how I despised those.

Did you ever have a moment like that where a game would suddenly take a turn for the unsettling? Ecco the Dolphin is a good one, too. The Vortex Queen should be filed under nope.jpg.
