Wow, this trailer. I’m in love with that upbeat music.

Edge of Reality is bringing its free-to-play shooter Loadout to PlayStation 4 as a console exclusive. Some three million people are already playing it on PC and while I’m not one of them, not yet, I’ve given it serious thought — but, “free-to-play.” Hmm. Does look like silly fun, though.

The main draw besides the messed-up cartoonish gore and, uh, nontraditional characters is an extensive weapon crafting system with “billions of combinations.”

All told, I’d consider this to be a score for PS4 owners. This version of Loadout won’t be a straight port, from the sound of it: Edge of Reality says it’s “going to be adjusting all the scopes and balancing the barrels so your weapons of choice feel right at home on DualShock 4.”
