(Not without Surgeon Simulator it isn’t)
Epic Games’ Mark Rein does not view the PlayStation 4 as a mere console, oh no. Echoing similar sentiments to Avalanche Studios, Rein believes the PS4 is a gaming PC with a memory advantage over less dedicated computers. In fact, he calls it the perfect gaming PC.
“When you think about Windows, even Windows for most people is tied to about 2GB of addressable memory space,” he told CVG. “This really opens up beyond what most PCs can do, because most PCs are running a 32-bit version of Windows.
“It’s like giving you the world’s best PC … The kind of stuff that they announced that they’re doing, the level of convenience and things like that… they’re making a really perfect gaming PC.”
Strong words of support for Sony’s system, though words that don’t take into account the existence of 64-bit OS’ and hinge on the idea that memory is everything. Still, it’s cool developers are excited for new consoles. I hope publishers let them make a handful of interesting games for them.
