And I mean literally everyone. We had the chance to speak with Theatrhythm producer Ichiro Hazama here at E3, and after our chat about the game (more on that later), I asked if we could all come together to decide how they game’s name should be pronounced.
Hazama says Theatrhythm with a hard stop after the T to separate it into two words, “Theat” and “Rhythm.” This is the pronunciation that I’ve been using, but I’ve been corrected on many occasions. Square Enix’s public relations staff is calling the title “Theater rhythm” based on the two source words for the game’s title. I’ve also heard people calling it “Thearhythm” without the T.
So unfortunately there’s no consensus, but if I had to pick a source for how to correctly say Theatrhythm, I’d probably go with the producer, and I’m not just saying that because I’ve already been saying it that way.
Tell us how you pronounce Theatrhythm. Maybe you’re with me in being so excited for this game that you really don’t care what they call it?
