E3 10: Steel Diver, new Nintendo IP for 3DS

Recommended Videos

Nintendo is bringing new iterations of franchises like Star Fox or Paper Mario to the recently announced 3DS. But what about new stuff? Familiar faces are fine and all, but what else ya got? Tucked in the corner is Steel Diver, a submarine action-simulation that at looks to feature light, underwater shmup action. While the top screen gives you a full 3D view of the aquatic environment, the touch screen is used to guide the sub and launch torpedoes and perform other sub-like activities.

There’s not much info at this time, and I doubt this title will be Nintendo’s next big franchise pillar. For now, it looks like some underwater fun for Nintendo’s ambitious new handheld.
