Over the last week, game developers and publishers have been putting support behind Ukraine amid its invasion by Russia. Today, publisher CD Projekt took a significant step. CD Projekt will suspend digital sales and physical stock deliveries of its products to Russia and Belarus.

This includes distribution of games on the GOG platform, which GOG owns and operates. In a statement, CD Projekt put its support behind Ukraine.

“While we are not a political entity capable of directly influencing of state matters, and don’t aspire to be one, we do believe that commercial entities, when united, have the power to inspire global change in the hearts and minds of ordinary people,” reads the statement. “We know that players in Russia and Belarus, individuals who have nothing to do with the invasion of Ukraine, will be impacted by this decision, but with this action we wish to further galvanize the global community to speak about what is going on in the heart of Europe.”

The publisher recently launched the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, and also runs the online store GOG.

Bloober Team, creators of The Medium and other horror games, have also pulled all their games from digital stores in Russia and Belarus, starting with Steam.

Game developers have been showing their support for Ukraine from around the world. Statements backing the people of Ukraine and donations to humanitarian aid have been steadily flowing in. Now, it seems like publishers are taking even firmer stances on the matter.
