Capcom Europe pisses fans off over Mega Man Legends 3

Recommended Videos

Capcom Europe has spent about three hours on Twitter responding to a bombardment of enraged fans who felt they were getting blamed for the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. It is, in every sense of the word, a total shitstorm on the @CapcomEuro Twitter feed.

The offending comment was in reply to a fan asking about the project: “It’s a shame the fans didn’t want to get more involved 🙁 if we saw there was an audience for MML3 people might change minds.”

This sparked pure nerd rage from gamers once they stumbled upon the comment, which caused Capcom Europe to spend several hours deflecting angry comments and explaining that it meant. Capcom Europe insists it was talking about the devroom, not the gamers at large, but has stated that it is “not blaming anyone.”

Nonetheless, Capcom Europe did state quite explicitly that it did not see there being an audience for the game, and the potential audience is quite unhappy about it. Not to mention, is an obscure offshoot of Capcom’s community blog really a place to gauge audience interest? Seems like a lame excuse. I’d rather Capcom just come out and say — “None of you will buy this, so screw it.”
