The never ending saga of mobile games ripping off other titles has found a new victim with Pushmo for the 3DS. The clone in this case is called BlockShift, and the developer behind the project has even stated in the comments section on GoNintendo that he “was inspired by everything Intelligent Systems and Nintendo make.”

The person behind the Android game isn’t charging BlockShift, so while he’s not making a profit from it, he is still potentially harming Pushmo sales. The thing that really bothers me about this whole affair is that BlockShift can read and take QR codes designed for Pushmo, as demonstrated in the above video.

It’s one thing to be “inspired,” it’s downright sleazy to blatantly steal a feature designed specifically for another product.
