Bennett is a 4-star Pyro Sword user and one of the best supports in Genshin Impact. Read on to find out the best weapons, artifacts, and teams for our favorite unlucky adventurer!
Playstyles
Bennett is typically used as a support, since his Burst grants a massive ATK buff to any teammate who stands within its circular AoE. To this end, he is very easy to play: simply use his Skill and Burst and then swap to your teammates. His fairly short Skill cooldown gives you flexibility to use an extra Skill when your rotation allows for it.
Bennett can also be used as an on-field DPS to take advantage of his own buffs. While standing in his Burst circle, Bennett’s Skill cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds. This means that he can stay on-field spamming Skills to do Pyro damage. If he is Constellation 6, then any melee character’s Normal Attacks will also do Pyro damage while in his Burst, including Bennett himself.
Weapons
Bennett’s ATK buff scales only with his Base ATK. If you only want to maximize his buff as a support, then you can use any Sword you have with the highest Base ATK. Only the weapons with particular synergy are listed below, but you can really use anything!
Mistsplitter Reforged or Aquila Favonia – These are the 5-star Swords with the highest Base ATK in Genshin Impact. They will ensure that support Bennett confers the maximum ATK buff possible, and they are also great options for DPS Bennett. Mistsplitter is preferred, since Aquila’s Physical DMG bonus isn’t useful to Bennett.
Skyward Blade – A 5-star Sword obtainable from the standard pool. Though the damage from its passive isn’t usually very impactful, its relatively high Base ATK and useful Energy Recharge stat make it a good all-around weapon for both support and DPS playstyles.
Freedom-Sworn – A limited 5-star Sword. Bennett doesn’t make the best use of its Elemental Mastery stat unless he is used as a reaction-based DPS. However, if you’re able to trigger enough reactions, its passive can provide additional buffs for the team.
Sapwood Blade or The Alley Flash – These are the 4-star Swords with high Base ATK. Sapwood Blade is the better choice, since Sapwood’s Energy Recharge stat is usually more useful than Alley Flash’s Elemental Mastery. The Alley Flash’s value can increase with DPS Bennett if he is triggering reactions.
Favonius Sword – A 4-star option with low Base ATK, but a lot of utility. It gives Bennett the most Energy Recharge and allows him to generate additional particles when he scores a CRIT.
Artifacts
4pc Noblesse Oblige (4NO) – Grants a teamwide 20% ATK buff on top of Bennett’s buff from his Burst. This is the go-to set for support Benny.
4pc Crimson Witch of Flames (4CWoF) – For reaction-based DPS Benny. This will buff the damage from his reactions, whether he is triggering Vaporize, Overload, or Burgeon.
4pc Thundering Fury (4TF) – A niche but fun set for DPS Bennett! Triggering Overload with this set reduces the cooldown of Bennett’s Skill by 1 second. Since his Skill cooldowns are already only 2 seconds while standing in his Burst, 4TF lets Benny spam his Skill every second. Pair him with Fischl for best results!
4pc Gilded Dreams (4GD) or 4pc Flower of Paradise Lost (4FoPL) – These are niche sets for Burgeon Bennett only.
Artifact Stats
Bennett still has all of his support capabilities when built as a DPS. Even if you mostly use him as a support, building him like a DPS will give him the flexibility to do damage when you want to! Just make sure you have enough Energy Recharge for both purposes.
Sands | Goblet | Circlet | |
---|---|---|---|
Support | Energy Recharge HP | HP | Healing Bonus HP |
DPS | Energy Recharge ATK Elemental Mastery | Pyro DMG Elemental Mastery | CRIT Rate/DMG |
Support Bennett can require upwards of 200% Energy Recharge. This is much lower for on-field DPS Bennett, who can get away with around 130% if he is spamming Skills.
If you are playing Bennett on-field and triggering reactions, EM is more valuable than ATK. ATK is still recommended for an all-purpose build though, since his teams vary quite a bit.
Teams
Pyro Support
Bennett is the best support unit for a Pyro DPS since he can provide Energy, buffs, and healing all at once. These teams consist of:
Pyro DPS – This is your primary DPS that Bennett will be supporting. Xiangling works phenomenally here, as do Yoimiya, Lyney, Klee, and Diluc.
Reaction Enabler – Required if you want to trigger reactions. Xingqiu and Yelan work great for Vaporize teams. Rosaria or Kaeya can trigger Melt.
Anemo Support – Not strictly necessary, but helpful to have. Kazuha, Venti, or Sucrose will help group enemies and reduce their elemental RES.
Flex – This can be an additional DPS of any element, or a defensive utility. Raiden and Tartaglia are popular choices for on-field DPS units. Zhongli and other shielders can also help give your on-fielder some stagger resistance.
On-Field DPS
On-field Bennett is typically used in one of three team archetypes: Vaporize, Overvape (Overload + Vaporize), or Burgeon. Thundering Fury Bennett will require at least one Electro teammate.
Hydro Enabler – Required for all three team types. Xingqiu and Yelan are the best for this. You can bring just one, but both are recommended for maximum Hydro application, Energy, and damage. Having both allows you to add Xiangling to the mix and let her trigger some Vapes as well.
Electro Enabler – Required for Overvape teams and for Thundering Fury Bennett. Fischl is best for this, but you can also bring Yae Miko or Kuki Shinobu.
Dendro Enabler – Required for Burgeon teams. Nahida or Dendro Traveler are recommended. All you need is an off-field Dendro source to trigger some Blooms.
Flex – If you have the space, you can bring an Anemo teammate for RES shred and grouping. You can bring a shielder instead if you prefer the stagger resistance, or just an additional off-field DPS.
To C6 or not to C6?
Bennett’s Constellation 6 infuses Pyro in the melee weapons of anyone inside his Burst. At this point in Genshin Impact, Bennett’s C6 helps more characters than it actively hurts. The only characters/builds that are negatively impacted are:
- Physical DPS units (e.g., Eula, Razor)
- Units whose elemental infusions are overridden by Benny’s (e.g., Ayaka, Keqing, Chongyun)
- Any future units that may potentially fall into either category
