Batman: Arkham City collector’s edition content revealed

Unsurprisingly, Batman: Arkham City is getting one of those fancy collector’s editions this October when the game is released.

Retailers GameStop and Best Buy have both listed the $99.99 set which will include an art book, animated Gotham Knight content, “early access” to downloadable add-on content, and a statue. The “premium statue” is designed by Kotobukiya, and will “bring the excitement of the game into the real world,” whatever that means. Neither listing shows an image of the in-box goodies, but that sounds more like a diorama than a simple statue of the Dark Knight, if you ask me.

The game’s publisher Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the box, but as soon as we get some more details and pretty pictures, you’ll be sure to know about it. Batman: Arkham Asylum got its own collector’s edition, complete with a Batarang, and that was before it was a proven hit. It shouldn’t be all that shocking to find that the follow-up to a successful title would get a fancy hundred dollar package… and I kind of want one.
