First-person open-world adventuring on Pandora

Ubisoft closed out its E3 2021 stream with a look at the long-time-coming Avatar game it’s been cooking up. It has a name! Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. And somewhat surprisingly, it’s a first-person action-adventure from Massive Entertainment.

I can’t think about Avatar without thinking about Avatar babies, and this game doesn’t change that, but uh… Wait, I totally lost my train of thought.

For those of you who are generally aware of and/or care about the movie lore, this is a “standalone story” with Na’vi. Otherwise, Ubisoft isn’t saying much yet; the game will delve into the “Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora.”

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will release on PC, PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.
