Another amiibo-centric game is on the way from Nintendo

Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge

Support for amiibo figures has been a bit mixed for me. Some games use them wonderfully in an ancillary manner (Captain Toad), and others utilize them in a way that adds a significant amount of gameplay (Shovel Knight), which are both pretty great. But it’s the experiences that either feel pointless, or add very little that I kind of shrug off.

Hopefully Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge isn’t one of those latter cases. Arriving in Japan this month on both Wii U and 3DS, it looks like a nice little take on Mario vs. Donkey Kong. There’s no word on a localization but here’s hoping.
