Updated on September 8, 2026: Fully overhauled the tier list and updated everything for the 4.0 Update.
I ranked all Anime Squadron units according to four of the main roles in the game which are DPS, Support, Tank and Farm. In addition to the rankings I’ll also go into some tips and a farming guide for everything. Here’s my Anime Squadron unit tier list and guide.
Anime Squadron Unit Tier List

The individual unit ranking reasons are below as well as how to get the special units. Before we dive into the individual rankings, here’s a breakdown of the ranking tiers for the best units in Anime Squadron:
- S-Tier DPS: The Meta tier for units with the best damage.
- A-Tier DPS: Sub-Meta DPS units that still scale well into the end-game due to damage/utility.
- B-Tier DPS: Decent DPS units that make up for lower damage with off-Tank/Support capabilities.
- C-Tier DPS: Weaker beginner DPS units that have niche uses.
- D-Tier DPS: Weak and outdated units.
- Tank: The best defensive units that tank for your main DPS units and supports.
- Support: The best team buffers and enemy debuffers to support your main DPS units.
- Farm: Fastwagon (Falcon has an economy passive but he’s a bad unit and needs an update).
Leader Buffs (+30%/+10% DMG):
- Madora (Shinobi/Curse)
- Gometa Blue (Dragon/Water)
- Bralu (Antagonist/Nature)
- Gometa SSJ4 (Protagonist/Divine)
- Yuto (Sorcerer/Holy)
- Shadow (Protagnosti/Curse)
- Michigo (Peroxide/Divine)
Best Traits
- DPS/Support: Superior > Cloner
- Farm: Entrepreneur > Wealthy
- Tank: Rebirth or Superior
S-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
![]() Michigo (Horn of Salvation) | • The best DPS in the game with Overhealth shred and a ton of crit damage • Also has the best Nuke in the game that gets buffed by his passive annihilating for up to 1500% damage when fully stacked |
![]() Shadow (Atomic) | • A Meta DPS/Tank Hybrid with his damage and tankyness coming from his summoned shadows • Has a nice nuke for when you need it that consumes shadows so you’re alternating between sustained DPS with a lot of shadows and then consuming them for burst damage |
![]() Diro (The World) | • An incredibly versatile Meta DPS unit that debuffs enemies and buffs himself • Is also not that tank dependent since he has self-heals and self-buffs |
![]() Asto (Black) | • Makes clearing stages less chaotic by disabling special effects from enemies like Regenerate, Confusion, Hexer, Summoner and Dodger • This is massive utility for your entire team plus he then buffs his own DPS becoming one of the best sustained damaged dealers in the game • An incredibly useful unit to have in almost every team |
![]() Jyn (Monkey King) | • Off-Meta in a vacuum but becomes a high-tier Meta DPS unit in the right team due to his copy ability • Once you combine him with any of the top 5 units in the game taking into account different Elements as well, he buffs himself to insane levels od DPS • He works best with units with high crit chance builds |
![]() Yuto (Curse Spirit) | • I would have put Yuto in the Support tier if he didn’t have the copy technique • With some of the most broken units that we have now copy becomes incredibly good • But other than copy, he’s an excellent support DPS, especially with the leader buffs |
![]() Rakia (Ice Queen) | • Similar to Yuto in the sense that she’s a Meta DPS/Support hybrid • She freezes enemies on a low cooldown to stall for your main DPS units and then deals amazing damage for a support-oriented unit on Frozen enemies |
![]() Sakuna (Curse) | • Works really well with tanks since he pseudo taunts enemies onto tanks • Deals massive damage with both Confusion on high HP enemies and then has massive utility by executing low HP enemies • Also all buffs and healing from other units further buffs his damage turning your healers into DPS buffers |
![]() Bambi (The Explode) | • One of the best crowd clearing units with massive AOE damage and self-stacking attack speed buffs |
![]() Yomi (Darkness) | • A tanky DPS unti that’s a great boss killer |
![]() Kanpachi (Beast) | • One of the best boss killers in the game since he both focuses bosses once the eyepatch is off and ignores their defenses |
![]() Goju (Six Eyes) | • Has both Meta DPS and also a ton of utility to split damage between allies and reduce it thus preventing your units from getting bursted down • Works incredibly well with tanks and has a ton of self-buffs that support his playstyle with a chunky nuke ultimate as a cherry on top |
![]() Yubacha (The Almighty) | • One of the best tanks in the game that also deals great damage • The reason he’s the best tank is that he has both massive defense buffs and invulnerability as well as a hard taunt to force enemies to attack him |
A-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Rizzuto (Six Path) | • The most versatile unit in the game due to the Clones • They basically give you meta DPS levels, incredible tank potential due to the heals and even support potential due to the damage and defense buff to nature allies • You can stack a ton of clones with Nature allies in the team and the Cloner trait and they all do follow up attacks • Superior is still slightly better |
![]() Kashima (God of Lightning) | • Works as both a DPS and Support with some tanking abilities with the defense buff • Has amazing utility overall and is an incredibly useful unit since he both stuns enemies and gives you damage amplification for your entire team |
![]() Yumamoto (Commander) | • A sub-Meta DoT unit with a special burn that stacks damage infinitely and shreds defenses for your other units • Incredibly useful if you can fit him into a team comp |
![]() Potry (Licht) | • An infinite range sniper unit that’s fun to play around with • Is a bit situational but on the right map and game mode he can be quite useful to snipe key targets |
Jotoro (Platinum) | • Deals impressive off-Meta damage once you stack his Platinum Soul for max crit • You want gear and a loadout with maximum crit since he empowers himself with his various passive on crit strikes and especially consecutive crits |
Madora (Six Path) | • Massive DPS from both the Burns and True Damage that ignores Defense • The Meteor simply nuke crowds and further buff his Burn DPS • Easily one of the top 3 DPS units right now • Leader buffs +30% DMG to Shinobi units and +10% DMG to Curse element units |
Mighty Guy (8th Gate) | • Is a bit slow at first since he needs to stack up the Gate buffs but once he does he’s a sub-Meta DPS machine • Fully stacked gates give you massive damage, fast attack speed, true damage and even 5-second stuns • Incredibly powerful unit on longer modes |
Kan (Ghoul) | • The pure sub-Meta DPS version of Kan that also has Prey but is based around massive Bleed DoT damage • Deafeating enemies that have Bleed on them and/or defeating enemies directly with Kan massively boosts his Bleed DPS and CD • Takes a while to get stacked up from Bleed Frenzy and Devour but becomes a Meta DPS afterwards • Also heals when taking down Prey which makes him a tankier DPS than usual |
Akoza (Demon) | • A sub-meta DPS boss killer that you want at the front to always keep at least one in combat since they all get massive damage buffs when fighting • Focuses on stacking Poison which nukes HP and shields when Battle Excitement is stacked and weakens enemy damage for support utility • He’s also pretty tanky since he can respawn at max BE stacks • Since Cloner makes additional Akoza’s spawn on self-revives, Cloner is also good on Akoza for DPS but overall is not better than Superior |
Gometa (Blue) | • Like Gometa SSJ4 stacks massive buffs • The gimmick is attacking the same target so he’s a boss killer • The buffs make him extremely powerful in longer game modes but his Ultimate is also great for shorter modes • Bralu is a bit more accessible and better for the average player but Gometa is a top high end-game unit • Leader buffs 30% DMG to Dragon and 10% DMG to Water units |
Bralu (Legendary) | • Bralu is much more accessible than Gometa and combined with his massive DPS and defense this makes him the better unit IMO • Part of his prime damage comes from Thorns and damage AMP when enemies attack him which is what also makes him a great tank • Either way, you want Bralu in the brunt of the action and he can take it due to CC immunity and defense boost when Rage is stacked • Leader buffs 30% DMG to Antagonist and 10% DMG to Nature units |
B-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Gometa (SSJ4)EVO Goki to Full Power Then complete questline For Primal Core materials for Gogeta EVO Goki’s Trait carries into Gometa | • Used to be one of the strongest DPS units in the game due to massive self-stacking buffs and the best unit to go for early via the Goku and Vegeta Mythics quest • Gometa can also tank really well in the end game with his massive defense, HP regen and dodge • Definitely worth rushing ASAP • Leader buffs 30% DMG to Protagonist and 10% DMG to Divine units |
Baras (Meteoric Burst)EVO Baras from the new Event | • An absolute boss-killer that stacks various buffs when hitting the same target • Has self-revives that boost his damage even more making him incredibly sticky and reliable |
Berserker (Enraged)Squadron Eclipse (Before) Chapter 4 | • One of the strongest DPS units due to massive Bleed DoT damage that even reduces enemy regen • All DPS is boosted the lower HP he is for even more damage so combine him with Skeleton Knight for tanking at low HP • Also quite durable due to the self-heal |
Saske (Susanoo) | • Quite a decent sub-Meta burn unit with utility • The utility comes from regen prevention on enemies that stacks with Bleed • There’s heavy synergy here with Bleed units since the Bleed buffs Saske’s Black Flame DoTs |
Rangaku (Demon) | • A near-Meta DoT damage DPS that deals AOE burst damage instead of sustained damage since his DoTs explode instead of dealing tick damage |
Tanjaro (Sun Breathing) | • Synergy with Nazaka Meta support for dual buffs • By himself he’s almost-meta DPS that’s based around executing low-HP enemies with self buffs when they drop below 50% and 25% HP |
![]() Dente & VargilBattlePass | • Individually Dante is a lower-tier DPS unit and Vergil is a pretty decent stun-based support • Together they are a sub-Meta DPS duo that’s actually quite strong due to their Devilish Combo ability synergy • The storm deals a lot of damage and it has great debuff potential • If you want DPS, run them both, if not, just run Vergil for support |
Woo (Shadow)Banner Secret 20k Summons Pity | • Sub-Meta DPS with summons, an AOE nuke and is decently tanky with the dodge chance • Really strong for fast clears/farming • Really underrated as a tank for dodging attacks instead of being a bullet sponge |
C-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Kan (Investigator) | • The damage/Tank hybrid version of Kan that has a bit lower DPS than other A-Tiers but still deals impressive damage and tanks really well • Both the pure DPS Kan and Tank Kan share the Prey ability but Kan (Investigator) uses it to heal and and gain dodge chance which makes him incredibly tanky |
Freezer (Golden) | • Gimmicky Meta DPS that relies on on-kill summons and AOE damage from his zone • He can deal a ton of AOE damage with the zone and summon explosions • Also has a built-in self-revive for defense if he’s on 3+ summons |
Garu (Half Monster)From Hero Hunter Challenge | • Incredibly versatile and useful unit that’s a DPS, Support and Tank all in one like Shanron but much better • Deals great DPS once you stack status effects and Marked on enemies • Tanks well with his ignore-lethal-hit effect that further buffs his DPS • Supports well with his Def buffs and Damage buffs to units dealing Corruption on targets Garu marks |
Kagaya (Resurrected) | • A gimmicky DPS that’s fun to play in specific teams due to her passive synergy but is overall sub-optimal in terms of high DPS |
Puppeteer (Transcendent)EVO Puppeteer Get base from Katakara Bridge Challenge Get EVO Item from Katakara Challenge Hard Mode | • A weaker version of Gometa DPS-wise but still powerful due to massive tankyness from heals • You get a ton of self buffs and a debuff that’s just more damage instead of being utility which is why I didn’t put Aizen in the support rankings • You can grind everything you need for him on the Katakara Bridge Challenge Normal/Hard |
Android (Super) | • A decent sub-Meta DPS unit with a bit of stuns for added utility • Weaker than Dante and Vergil if you run them both but about as strong individually |
Skeleton Knight (Resonance)Raid Eclipse (Before) Last Chapter | • Excellent Hybrid mix of DPS and the best tanking in the game • Link him with your strongest DPS unit for damage reduction • Lower DPS than S-Tiers but still great |
Shanron (Omega)GT City Raid Act 4 | • One of the most versatile units in the game since he can DPS, Tank and Support but not Meta great at either • His Ice mode slows enemy units which is great for stalling • Don’t rush him over the above units and save him for later |
D-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Goki (SSJ4 Full Power)Required for Gometa | • Goki is a great sub-Meta DPS but you want him either way for Gogeta • He’s slightly better than Vegata DPS-wise |
Vegata (SSJ4 Full Power)Required for Gometa | • Vegata’s Full Power EVO is quite a decent mid-game DPS unit • That said you mainly want his EVO since its required for the Gogeta quest |
Caska (Resilience) | • Not the best DPS but amazing support potential due to the damage amplification on attacks and buffing Berserker and Falcon • Can deal decent DPS with Berseker though since he buffs her too but only on 60%+ HP enemies |
Karashi (Sharingan) | • Karashi has lower DPS than the units above and Rizzuto but is incredibly good for farming resources on various modes (see farming guide below) • Plus he’s a really good filler unit for end-game teams |
