Amoebattle on the way to DSi, already on iOS

Recommended Videos

Move over Amoeba Boys (oh no he didn’!), a new microscopic organism is in town. Amoebattle, an RTS that’s already on the App Store for $5, is now approved by Nintendo for the DSi store. The game is a simple RTS, as there’s only nine different troops, but each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, so there’s at least some strategy involved.

While it isn’t the first time an iOS title has been ported or simultaneously developed for DSi (Gameloft immediately comes to mind), it isn’t exactly a normal occurrence. Considering that I’ve basically seen no traction so far in terms of indie offerings on the Vita, Nintendo may be on to something here if they can keep enticing developers over.
