Ambassadors: Super Mario Bros gets an update, multiplayer

Recommended Videos

Your “Ambassador” copy of Super Mario Bros. could get an update soon that would add multiplayer, save state, sleep mode and the instruction manual. Maybe. In Japan, this game will see a release on the 3DS eShop, which means those that originally downloaded this title for free under Nintendo’s Ambassador plan would also get the update. For free. For non-Ambassadors, SMB hits the Japanese shop on January 5, priced at 500 yen. Similarly, The Legend of Zelda saw an update last week as well.

If you’re wondering about the “maybe” part, know that no NES games have been released on the 3DS eShops outside Japan.
