How to find rare chests in Fortnite

The best way to find rare chests is by visiting and unlocking Vaults around the island. These special treasure troves are always guaranteed to have at least two, but oftentimes more, rare chests for you to open.

To access Vaults, you first need to find a key. Keys can be found randomly while looting around the island. Once you have one, hover over it in your inventory to have the path to the Vault marked. Head there as soon as possible to avoid other players unlocking it first.

It’s also helpful to keep an eye out for a blue glow in general exploration. All rare chests emit a blue glow that’s distinctly different from other types of containers, and sometimes, you may spot this glow on bushes or in corners, leading to finding a hidden rare chest nearby.

All rare chests are blue in color, making them very easy to spot and distinguish from other types of loot containers. Their general shape is the same as a standard chest, but their color and glow are very different.

If you’re looking for a break from hunting for rare chests, there are loads of other missions sure to keep you busy around the island. Some good ones to consider are getting Captain X rewards, unlocking Solid Gold A$AP Rocky, contacting Slone on the Slone Phone in Plunder Port, and collecting Nami’s Tangerines to help Sanji protect them.
