A Link Between Worlds will allow you to sequence break

You’ll be able to rent items before entering dungeons

For the longest time now, the common Zelda formula has been (1) enter dungeon, (2) get item from dungeon, (3) use that item to beat that dungeon, and (4) go to new dungeon and get new item. A Link Between Worlds is going to buck the trend a little bit.

According the new Nintendo Direct, you don’t have to clear the dungeons in a specific order. Like in the original NES game, you can enter any dungeon at your leisure (provided you can get there, of course). There will still be puzzles that require certain items to beat, but you’ll be able to rent them from a place called Ravio’s Shop. This should give players a little more freedom that they’ve been craving from their Zelda experience.

A Link Between Worlds hits the 3DS on November 22.
