LostWinds blowing towards iOS, Android phones

Frontier Development’s LostWinds, which made its debut on WiiWare a few years back, will be coming to iOS and Android phones.

The developer (last seen eliciting fuzzy feelings with Kinectimals) showed off the iOS version of the game to Eurogamer at the Develop conference this week. LostWinds on mobile will use a virtual joystick control scheme, with players tapping the screen to create wind.

LostWinds was one of the earliest WiiWare games, and (in my opinion) still one of the best games available for Nintendo’s service. A sequel, The Winter of the Melodias, was released in 2009. It was also awesome.
