Wargroove 2 gets a new trailer, October release date

It's time to groove.

Wargroove 2, the sequel to the top-down strategy game Wargroove received a brand new trailer and a release date in today’s Nintendo Direct. According to the new trailer, Wargroove 2 is set to release next month, on October 5.

The trailer spends some time highlighting the game’s story, which involves a set of “mysterious new factions” that players must contend with. Wargroove 2 allows players to “command the land, sea & sky” in their pursuit of total victory. Also, the trailer takes a moment to focus on “supercharged grooves,” which are akin to final blows that are unique to each Commander, including “Powerful Form,” “Raise Dead,” and “Chain Reaction.”

In addition, Wargroove 2 lets players upgrade their unit with a variety of items that can seemingly be found in active battle. In the trailer, for example, a character locates and pulls a sword from the ground whilst in the middle of active combat. It would seem that Wargroove 2 will also allow players to create their own maps, campaigns, and cutscenes with a new system improved over the original Wargroove.

Wargroove 2 is set for release on October 5. It will be available on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
