Doom Eternal is set to receive at least two DLC expansions

The Master Levels

Bethesda is set to release at least two post-launch DLC expansions for the upcoming Doom Eternal. While we already knew that developer ID Software was looking at expanding the game with extra content, this latest nugget of info comes from a description for the game’s collector’s edition.

In now updated listings on Amazon, a promotional image mentions the “Doom Eternal Year One Pass” and specifically notes “Campaign DLC 1+2.” While not as substantial, pre-ordering the game also nets you something called the “Master Level” campaign (a reference to the officially released Master Levels for Doom II). Considering the naming of these content drops, I’d imagine Doom Eternal might even see a second year of DLC beyond whatever is planned for 2020.

While I applaud ID Software for focusing in on what made Doom (2016) so great, I just hope that all of this DLC winds up more like Ressurection of Evil instead of Final Doom. It’s always fun to blast hellspawn to bits, but it would be nice for the quality level to remain high throughout.
