Ubisoft can’t keep up with demand for The Division’s closed beta

Some people are stuck waiting

Ubisoft says it “can no longer guarantee access” to this weekend’s closed beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division due to “unprecedented demand.”

“If you have already pre-ordered The Division and have yet to receive your key, we’re working closely with our partners to ensure that you receive it tomorrow when we send out the next batch of keys,” the company said in a blog post today.

“For those of you that have not pre-ordered but are on the waiting list, please know that we want to get as many people in the beta as possible. However, space will be severely limited for the rest of the beta testing phase due to high-demand.”

The beta began yesterday on Xbox One and rolled out earlier today on PlayStation 4 and PC. It’ll only last until Sunday, January 31, so if you’re curious, get in there while you still can.

I’ve been meaning to set aside time to give this a more in-depth look. So far, the things I like most about The Division have primarily been Silly Video Game Things (a stray dog unloading on the street; an impromptu group cardio session), but I might just be a weirdo. To those who of you with beta access, how’s it going so far? Is the PvP the main draw here?
