Super Mario Maker sells 1 million in US

Good software sales ahead of new console

Perhaps reassuring on the heels of a (possible, it’s still unclear!) new console release (the “NX”), two new Nintendo games have both sold over a million copies. Well, one is more new than the other.

Splatoon has actually sold at least two million worldwide, while Nintendo confirmed to VentureBeat that Super Mario Maker, released in September, has also sold over one million copies just in the United States. They join Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., Super Mario 3D World, and New Super Mario Bros. U as Nintendo million sellers. And at $60 a pop, likely, given that Nintendo never discounts the things.
