Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate update arrives April 16

Sweet, sweet cross-region and off-TV play

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is great and all, but it could be better. Like, why can’t we play against folks outside our region? Or why can’t we play using the Wii U’s off-TV function? Last month, Capcom promised to address those issues, and on April 16, it will hold true to its word.

The free update will introduce cross-region compatibility with American and European players — tough luck, Japan — as well as the much anticipated “toilet play,” which is what all the cool kids are calling it. Just don’t get too excited and lose track of time while fooling around with the new features. You wouldn’t want to be late to your first day of school, would you?
