Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 are getting a crossover

Both games to offer free crossover content

Say what?!

In a bizarre move, Capcom has announced that it is teaming up with Valve for some playable cross-promotion content between Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil 6.

For starters, the cast from Left 4 Dead 2 will be featured in Resident Evil 6‘s “The Mercenaries: No Mercy” mode, which is exclusive to the PC version of the game. No Mercy will also feature the Witch and Mini-Tank enemy types from L4D2 in addition to the playable cast. This will all drop on April 5 for free.

But the craziness doesn’t stop there, as Left 4 Dead 2 is getting its own crossover, when Resident Evil 6 enemies (the Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman) creep into the game this spring.

Valve’s Chet Faliszek had this to say on the collaboration: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”

Yep, so this is a thing. I may be the only person excited for it.
