gamescom is nuts. It’s not Tokyo Game Show nuts — nothing is — but it’s still pretty crazy. And loud! Today is the first weekend day for gamescom 2012, and all the general public is welcome to attend.
All of the halls of Koelnmesse are packed, and everyone here seems to be having a great time. Well, everyone except the people waiting in lines for the popular games. As you’ll see in the gallery below, Assassin’s Creed III has a wait so long that I’m not sure why anyone would wait in it. Seven hours! Yesterday, Call of Duty: Black Ops II had an eight-hour line. Lines wrap around booths and on top of themselves and people are in them are so miserable in them that they’re laying on the floor, poking at cellphones with batteries long dead.
Me? I’m fine! I’m having a great time today walking around and enjoying the sights and sounds. Plus, I’ve played all of these games. MWAHAHAHHAHAHAH.
The other thing that makes things fine for me is currywurst. Do you know about this crap? Bratwurst, cut up, doused in ketchup and worcestershire and curry powder, served with a totally unnecessary bun (see gallery). It’s the finest junkfood I’ve encountered, and one of my favorite things about the country of Germany (other than the girls, of course).
