Black Ops II’s villain is the ‘messiah of the 99%’

Now why would Activision publish a game in which the downtrodden, working class masses are led by a murderous monster of a man, hell-bent on demolishing our proud American society? Do I detect a subtle message that the angry poor are naught but gullible puppets that should listen to their corporate overlords?

I know, I know, I’m being way too cynical, but with Activision, it can be difficult not to be that way.

Black Ops II treads the topical line by having its central villain hailed as a hero by the poor. A bit like Bane in the new Batman movie, or Electro in the Spider-Man comic a while back. The above trailer shows how he’s manipulating the class divide, and threatens to wipe out the civilized world.

Now you may feel free to post about your political opinions in the comments. Such a discussion would definitely end well.
