Japan’s free 3DS TV starts, has girl sumo action

The last thing I’d want to do is watch television on my 3DS, but it would be useful for a nation of people that are always on the move — like Japan. Japanese 3DS will see the launch of the “Itsu no Ma ni Terebi” 3DS TV service this week. It’s a collaboration between Nintendo, Fuji TV and Nippon TV, and it will be free through add support. An app for the service will pop up in the Japanese eShop starting tomorrow.

This TV program supports the automatic download of content via SpotPass. Users will get custom 3D programming selections like a daily program on animals, or a daily magic show lesson. There’s also news, sports, and a show on trains. The best sounding content is called Idoling Sumo 3DS. GoNintendo says that popular girls will take on challenges in the form of battle.
