My 3DS systems are like lifeless little boxes that sometimes get booted up to play an old DS game on a different screen. I’ve been sequencing songs in Korg M01 for awhile now on my 3DS because there’s nothing else to do on it. Hopefully that ends on June 6th.
Nintendo sends word that we’re finally getting the update that will make our 3DS systems spring to life. Sometime during the evening of the 6th your internet connected 3DS will spring to life and pull down an update that will give your system access to a web browser, the Nintendo eShop (I want Super Mario Land!) and a fancy new Pokedex in 3D. Also included is a free copy of NES classic Excitebike. I’m so excite…bike.
Along with these goodies comes the ability to transfer DSiware from your DSi or DSi XL to your shiny new 3DS. Finally!
At this fancy new eShop you can buy original 3D software, classic games that have been re-mastered in 3D, Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles, and more than 350 Nintendo DSiWare games. And this new Pokedex will let you view each Pokémon in 3D with animated motion and sound. You can complete your Pokedex by sharing data with friends via SpotPass, or by scanning AR Markers.
Are you excite…bike?
