Zeno Clash II will emotionally disturb us this spring

Three new images to hold us over ’till then

The long-awaited sequel to Zeno Clash is finally set to arrive this spring, according to lead designer Carlos Bordeu. Three screenshots are on the official site, showing off the bizarre, new character designs and some new areas of the world, give us a taste of things to come when the game arrives on PC, XBLA, and PSN.

Name a game world that feels like Salvador Dali made it. Zeno Clash is the only acceptable answer. Its creature designs and environments are both unnerving and gorgeous, pairing well with its cryptic story that deals with infanticide and insanity. I was in love with it and even enjoyed its less-than-ideal melee combat. With more experience and funding, I suspect ACE Team will expand on the original’s twisted world and polish the fighting system.

Zeno Clash 2 is one of my most anticipated games going into 2013 and these new screenshots only stoke that fire.
