It’s not every year that a new Legend of Zelda game arrives. In fact, it’s been about six years between this week’s launch of Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor, Breath of the Wild. So, since it’s such a special occasion — and Zelda is such a popular series here at Destructoid — We have decided to commemorate the season of the new with a look back at the old. Yes, it is Zelda Week!

For those unfamiliar with our past celebrations, we’ll be posting and sharing lists, write-ups, and blogs all about the Zelda series this week, leading up to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom this Friday, May 12. We’ll have thoughtful looks at the history of the series. We’ll have lists with contributions from a variety of staff members. And heck, we might even bump some old favorites from our previous Zelda Week festivities.

So let’s don some green tunics and venture forth into the great unknown. It’s Zelda Week, y’all!
