According to the NPD’s data, Nintendo’s Wii has just hit the 35 million sales mark in the United States. February saw over 454,000 Wii being sold, making the system the fastest to hit 35 million in our history.

Nintendo also sent along some software sales marks with this bit of Wii braggery. Donkey Kong Country Returns launched in November of last year, and was my go-to holiday gift to related gamers. I’m happy knowing that I helped this game reach the 2 million sold mark. It’s a great game. New Super Mario Bros Wii, which my friend bought for me last year, is also a fantastic game. It hit 8 million this February.

For the DS, Pokemon SoulSilver hit 2 million and New Super Mario Bros just passed 9 million. HeartGold? They didn’t say. That’s the one I got.

Expect to see a similar update in the coming months, but replace the Wii with the 3DS, and the software this time is going to be Pokemon White & Black.
