Where to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine in Tears of the Kingdom

Talk about elusive!

Very late into Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’re asked to investigate various abandoned mines in the depths for a sidequest (that informs a main quest). Although the game helpfully throws you into the first mine with relative ease (just follow the statues), the second and third times around are a little less straightforward. Here’s how to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to find the Abandoned Lanaryu Mine for the main story quest

Although the quest will provide a marker, it’s practically useless, because it doesn’t actually highlight where the entrance to the mine is. If you’re like me, you might spend upwards of 45 minutes trying to search for the darn thing in vain! Thankfully, I finally uncovered the tunnel that leads directly into the mine.

Heading from the Uinoj Lightroot nearby, walk northeast up the hill. Marked directly on the map, the spot is north of the objective on a hillside, near ground level: it is not at the top of the mountain. If you need to see better in the darkness and don’t have any extra Brightbloom Seeds, use your lightning/Gerudo Champion/Sage ability: it acts as a sonar to get your bearings.
