Where to find Chewbacca in Fortnite Chapter 6, season 3

He needs your help.

There are many unique NPCs you can find around the island, and all of them are excellent allies for helping you get further in the round in Fortnite. Some of them can be tricky to find, though, as is the case with Chewbacca.

This lovable furry giant can be recruited as an ally, but you first need to know where to find him and what you need to do to get him on your side. He’s a fairly easy Wookie to get on your side once you know what needs to be done, so here’s where to find Chewbacca in Fortnite.

Chewbacca can be found at a randomly chosen Imperial Outpost in each round. His precise location is always marked by a beam of blue smoke you can spot from far away. He’s always engaged in battle against Stormtroopers, and the smoke pillar is him calling for help.

Chewbacca has three possible spawn locations, all of which are near the western end of the island. The three spots you may find him engaged in battle at are all Imperial Outposts. Their precise locations are as follows.

  • An Imperial Outpost north of Canyon Crossing and south of Crime City
  • An Imperial Outpost southwest of Crime City
  • An Imperial Outpost northwest of Outlaw Oasis

Since Chewbacca always spawns at one of these three locations, it’s best to head to the southwest end of the island straight from the battle bus whenever you’re searching for him. The only time you’ll find him elsewhere is when he’s been recruited by other players.

How to recruit Chewbacca in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle

Once you know where Chewbacca is, you can get to work recruiting him by defeating all the Stormtroopers hanging around the Imperial Outpost he’s at. On average, there are usually around two to three of these enemies to fight.

Chewbacca lets out a cheerful war cry as soon as all Stormtroopers have been eliminated, then he starts following you around as an officially hired NPC. He fights by your side as long as you’re both alive and occasionally drops useful items like shield potions.

Only the first player who saves Chewbacca in each round unlocks him as a companion. This means you generally want to head straight for his location from the battle bus. You can’t always see the blue smoke from way up high in the sky, so just gradually glide through the air towards the southwest end of the island until you spot it.

All Imperial Outposts generally have a few chests you can loot, so once you’re at one, grab a weapon, then get shooting as soon as possible. Stormtroopers have terrible aim, and they’re usually more focused on Chewbacca than you, so you don’t need much to take them out. Chewbacca also rewards you with a Legendary Wookiee Bowcaster after you help him out, so you’ll get another weapon pretty quickly.

If you’re not sure what to do after recruiting Chewbacca, there are plenty of other quests you can tackle around the island. Next, you might complete Jar Jar Binks’ story quests, unlock General Grievous, and work on your Alignment.
