There’s pretty much a tradition most players of Bethesda RPGs follow. After making a character and setting out into the world, the first task to slash out is to find the best possible vendor to unload the metric ton of crap you’ve hoovered up in the short time you played. Starfield is no different. For weeks community forum posters have been asking about the best shops. But where exactly is the best vendor in Starfield?
Oddly enough, someone from said community forums may have figured out something rather cool. Reddit user Roughsax13 (there’s a name) discovered a method that not only lets you sell your junk quickly but in a way to avoid long reset times in Starfield. Here’s how they did it, along with instructions on doing the same.
The best Starfield vendor is apparently on Venus
According to the Reddit user, the best place to sell your items is on Venus in the Sol System. You… should know what system that is. Anyway, land on the planet’s surface and look around for a Civilian Outpost. If it has a vendor, they should have the typical 5,000 credits for buying your stuff.
Next, you need to create an outpost to have a fast-travel point from anywhere in the galaxy. The final step? Locate a chair or bed and use it to wait. It normally takes around 48 hours in Universal Time for vendor credits to refresh. But here’s where things get fun: One hour on Venus is 100 UT hours in Starfield. The game only needs to load for one tick before you can sell again. Honestly, it’s brilliant. I had to try it for myself.
Finding a vendor on Venus helps you avoid long wait times
I flew my garbage barge to Venus, landed in the Hills biome, and began my hunt for the best vendor in Starfield. Opening up my scanner, I headed out to the nearest point of contact. I got lucky. The first occupied place I found was a Civilian Outpost. It didn’t have a vendor inside, as shown by Roughsax13, but there was a trader outside.
Sure enough, the trick works. After selling off some gear, I popped a squat in a nearby chair and waited for one local hour. It took but a moment, but the trader was stocked up once more. It’s not a snarky mudcrab, but it’s better than the alternative.
There is an important caveat. The planet is a burning inferno, and the only way you can build an outpost on Venus is by having the Planetary Habitation skill unlocked. If you don’t have that skill, you’re out of luck.
Regardless, it seems to be the best option if you have to find the perfect vendor in Starfield that helps you avoid long wait times.
