What is Strafing in MW3? Explained

A useful thing to know!

Whether it’s camo challenges or new weekly tasks, there are plenty of ways to earn rewards in MW3. A common challenge is to get kills while Strafing, but if you don’t know what that means, it can be tough to do.

Getting kills while in Tactical Stance is a popular quest set by Sledgehammer, but they do tend to switch it up in the weekly challenges and slot Strafing eliminations in there too. In this guide, I’ll explain what Strafing means, and how to get Strafing Kills in Modern Warfare 3.

What is Strafing in MW3?

Strafing is moving side-to-side without turning your character. Essentially, imagine getting up off your chair and standing up, then taking a step to the right and back to the left. Doing this continually is Strafing.

How to get easy Strafing kills in MW3

To get Strafing kills in MW3, you need to get the elimination while performing the Strafing motion explained above. For a helpful advantage, make sure to use the Stalker Boots which boost your Strafing and ADS movement speed, while I find an SMG like the WSP Swarm is the best gun to use.

You should be Strafing all the time

Even if you don’t have a Strafing challenge, you should still consider adding it your bag of tricks and doing it during matches. Strafing makes you a harder target to hit, as the side-to-side movement makes it difficult for your opponent to keep their crosshair on you.

In a gunfight, it could make the difference between victory and defeat, so add it to your arsenal and see how much it can help.
