Sword Enhancement and Enchantment Explained

Enhancing and enchanting are two different mechanics that increase the power of your Sword in Verse Piece. Both of these can be done at the Blacksmith NPC on the Blacksmith Isle. Enhancement increases the damage of your Sword by a set percentage. The maximum enhancement level you can reach by default is +5.
Enchantments are different, as they add special effects to the M1 attacks of your Sword. For example, some enhancements let you apply burn, freeze, and bleed status effects. Also, while your Sword is enchanted, the maximum enhancement level on it increases to +10. This increase persists even after you roll the “None” enchantment if you previously enhanced the Sword to +10.
How to Enhance a Sword in Verse Piece

You can enhance your Sword at the Blacksmith NPC using Enhance Stones. However, there is only a 10% chance that your enhancement will be successful. So, on average, you need 50 Enhance Stones to level up a sword to +5. If you enchanted your Sword, you can enhance it even further to +10, which provides you with a significant DPS increase.
Farming Enhance Stones
There are multiple methods for farming Enhance Stones in Verse Piece. Still, fishing is the most effective one, as it doesn’t require any additional input. You can also get these materials by opening Chests and by mining in the Dungeon Cave. In reality, you will rarely have to target farm Enhance Stones because they are very easy to get while grinding for other stuff in the game.
How to Enchant a Sword in Verse Piece

To enchant a Sword in Verse Piece, you need to use Reroll Shards at the Blacksmith NPC. When rerolling, there is a chance you either get one of the available enchants or none at all. Currently, there are five different enchantments you can roll on a Sword:
- Fire—Adds a Burn damage over time effect to your M1 attacks
- Ice—Adds a Freeze effect to your M1 attacks
- Bleed—Adds a Bleed damage over time effect to your M1 attacks
- Leech—Your M1 attacks let you lifesteal and regain HP based on the damage you’ve dealt
- Blessing—Adds a 2.5x damage multiplier to your Sword
Farming Reroll Shards
There is only one way to farm Reroll Shards in Verse Piece, and that is mining rare Reroll Shard ore nodes in the Dungeon Cave. Preferably, place a Drilling Artifact in the center of the cave to efficiently mine multiple ore nodes as they respawn. To increase the amount of Reroll Shards you get per node, make sure you equip the Enhanced Mining Gloves and the Mining Master trait.
