[Update: Epic Games did the honors of announcing its publishing deal with gen Design, Playdead, and Remedy today.]

Remedy Entertainment has inked a deal with a “major publisher” to produce two new games for PC and next-gen consoles. Both titles are expected to arrive from the Finnish studio within the next few years.

There are no details at all pertaining to the publisher or the games, but it is known that both titles are within the same franchise; one will be a larger AAA release, with the second be a “smaller-scale” project. As part of the agreement, the publisher will fully finance the development cost of both titles, so we’re looking at someone with deep pockets.

Remedy is known for their oppressive cinematic adventures, having seen huge success with titles such as Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and most recently the reality-bending Control. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer for at least a little more info, as Remedy is expected to make an announcement regarding the new partnership later today.
