Tony and Holmes try out Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze

Retro’s platformer is looking super sharp

I never thought I’d see competitive Donkey Kong, but watching Jonathan Holmes and Tony Ponce team up proves that wrong. With Gil Ruta from Nintendo watching on, Tony and Holmes try to find out who is the best player, controlling Diddy and Donkey Kong as they run and jump through the lush jungles, fending off Viking Penguins (no seriously, Gil explains it all, it makes total sense).

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze looks really sharp on the Wii U and the blend of the 3D elements in the background with the 2D platforming is really eye catching. Watch the big viking ship crash onto the beach for a perfect example of this.
