In an investor’s conference call held way too early this morning, THQ rambled on about a bunch of numbers and dollar signs, while confirming plans for upcoming titles and franchises.
Red Faction: Guerrilla and Darksiders: Wrath of War — two games that haven’t even hit shelves yet — have been penciled in for sequels for fiscal 2012 (April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012). While the success of these IPs this year will probably dictate whether THQ goes forth with the projects, it’s interesting to hearit’s confident enough in them to already consider follow-ups.
Also talked about for fiscal 2012 was a Warhammer 40,000 MMO, an unannounced Pixar title, and a “new animated kids games.” Not looking too far ahead into the crystal ball, THQ also mentioned a “new direction” for Volition’s Saint’s Row 3, and an action title being developed by Relic (Company of Heroes) and an unannounced racing title.
