It may have a stupid name, but Thexder Neo looks really damn promising, and it’s coming to the PlayStation Network. Square Enix’s “new” downloadable PSP offering is part shmup, part robotic platformer and a brand new Japanese site for the game went live recently, packing a shedload of assets.
Thexder Neo was revealed as a listing in Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show lineup. It’s a reimagining of an old 1985 PC shooter where players control a jet that transforms into a robot. The new Thexder Neo will come with updated graphics, new gameplay elements, an easy mode and online play. It’ll hit the Japanese PSN on October 1 as a 1,000 Yen download.
