Picking out the best race in Roblox The Veil is one of the pillars of your build. Races can define your build’s focus and push it more toward casting or melee with some simply being universally good. Here’s my The Veil race tier list and guide.

When it comes to the best races in The Veil you can think of the A-Tier as the practical S-Tier since Veilborne is hard to get. That said, there are excellent race options even among the lower rarities. You can get a lot of mileage out of Goblin and Hiveling as a beginner player and then focus toward more advanced builds later on with other high-tier races. Below you’ll find individual ranking reasons and race abilities.
S-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes | Race Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Veilborne Legendary | • You essentially stack max Weave faster and get more out of it with a 5% increased max buff capacity • Plus you get a great skill to boost your overall DPS with universal damage that’s good on any build for both PVE and PVP • A whole tier above other races and the Insanity increase isn’t a major debuff | Duskweaver Weave caps at 4 stacks instead of 5 But each stack grants +7.5% Universal damage and Speed instead of +5% Nightfall +10% Insanity At night, you get the Nightfall Aura Use it to call the Veil’s lightning down on yourself Deals 15 damage Drains 10 Sanity from everyone around you Gain +10% Universal damage +10% speed Lasts for 15 seconds Damage scales with both your damage and cast damage multipliers |
A-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes | Race Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Goblin Uncommon | • The best beginner race in the game • The loot boost is good but the cast DPS boost is exceptional for such an easy-to-get race | Greedy Instincts +20% Luck +10% Cast damage -10% Cast cooldown |
![]() Gemhead Rare | • A better Skeleton that will provide much more value for your summons due to the HP boost | Resonant Core +10% Summon damage +15% Summon life |
![]() Underling Rare | • As good as Goblin and better in situations when you’re dealing with Fire damage • Otherwise has more burst damage but slightly lower DPS | Emberborn +25% Fire resistance +10% Regeneration +15% Cast damage |
B-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes | Race Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Obelite Elite | • DPS is better for race abilities than being tankier so I put Obelite slightly below the three DPS races in A-Tier • It’s still a good race if you want more defenses with a massive +23% Resistance bonus with the ability active • It’s just much slower with no damage buffs and in the end-game you mainly want to move faster and do more damage | Stoneform +8% Resistance +10% Stun resistance +15% Knockback -10% Speed Exert Energy Vent rock and smoke from every part of your body for 10 seconds While it lasts you gain: -15% Speed +15% Resistance Afterwards, for 15 seconds, you have: -20% Regeneration -20% Stamina regeneration |
![]() Hiveling Uncommon | • A great early-to-mid game option to have due to the damage boost • You can play around the race passive by farming at night and managing your inventory, buying/selling, doing non-combat quests, etc., during the day | Nocturnal +10% Resistance at night -10% Resistance during the day -10% attack speed +10% damage |
D-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes | Race Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Wraith Rare | • Ignoring one hit every 20 hits sounds pretty good but isn’t as strong as you think since you can’t control when it happens • It can still save you against elite enemies and bosses but isn’t overall that powerful | Phase 5% chance to ignore a hit |
![]() Skeleton Uncommon | • A neat little early game option if you get a summon lantern but overall is weak and should be replaced when you can for B-Tiers and higher | Brittle Bones -10% Resistance +10% Speed +10% Summon damage |
C-Tier Races
| Race | Ranking Notes | Race Abilities |
|---|---|---|
![]() Human Common | • HP is always good but there are much higher power potential races above • The problem is that the race buff works better later with +50 HP at Prestige 10 but by then you want a different race for stronger buffs | Ambitious Gain +30 Max HP for each Prestige instead of +25 |
![]() Mushling Rare | • An okay supporting race but overall very weak | Sporeheart +10% Regeneration +10% Healing received -10% Stamina regeneration Decompose Sink into the ground and rot there Gain +25% Regeneration Press again to climb back out |
