Everyone loves to debate the merits of games from “back in the day” versus those of more contemporary fare. But why should we have to fight their battles for them? All those gaming heroes are perfectly capable of settling the dispute themselves, through good old-fashioned violence.
In the latest freddiew production, a dimensional rift has open up, allowing throngs of Atari-era sprites to rush forth into our time. It’s up to the combined efforts of icons like Nathan Drake, Lara Croft, Leon Kennedy, and others to drive ’em back. There’s a great sequence in which Altaïr freeruns through the city, and another one in which the Scout keeps a volley going against a Pong paddle (or is it a Breakout paddle?).
Meanwhile, Master Chief doesn’t do sh*t. Great help, jerk.
