Not too many days remain until launch now
The launch date for the nextĀ ZeldaĀ game draws near, and Nintendo is sharing one last tidbit before then.Ā The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomĀ gets its last pre-launch trailer tomorrow, April 13.
Nintendo will be live-streaming the reveal on its YouTube channel here, at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET. The trailer will clock in at roughly three minutes long. Nintendo also confirms this will be the final pre-launch trailer for the game ahead of its launch on May 12.
No indication’s been given as to what the specific focus of this trailer will be. In the teaser image, we can see some embossed carvings, seemingly detailing some kind of conflict. But anything else, we’d just be guessing at. Tomorrow will be the last trailer forĀ Tears of the Kingdom, and likely the last bit of speculation fodder we’ll get ahead of launch too.
A new kingdom rises
It’s wild to think that we’re now, as of this writing, one month away from the release ofĀ The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The sequel toĀ Breath of the WildĀ has been in the works for a while, following its surprise reveal at E3 2019.
Yet we’ve seen very little of it, all things considered. And honestly, I’m pretty okay with that. I already gave my whole reasoning for why the most recentĀ ZeldaĀ showcase, which spotlighted Link’s newĀ Nuts & Bolts-like powers, was all I needed to see of the sequel.
Nintendo, I guess, did not get my memo, and is now showing more anyway. I can’t really complain, as I will absolutely eat this trailer up. I’m mostly curious to see whether we get any more story details. So far we know that Link and Zelda go on a really bad date to the underground, a lanky dude (likely Ganondorf) is mummified there, islands start rising into the clouds, and our hero sets off on a new adventure with a cursed arm and freed hair.
Whatever awaits, I’m just eager to make meat arrows, long forks, and other cursed contraptions in a month’s time.Ā The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomĀ launches on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
