The Daily Hotness: Space captain Starkey

Our own affable, drunk-emailing Daniel Starkey (pictured above, looking a bit like a made up Eric Bana) recently wrote an incredibly personal piece for Gameranx on his connection with the Mass Effect series and his relationship to it and his science-fiction-loving mother. I warn you, it’s quite an emotional read, in which Starkey, essentially role-playing FemShep as his mother, comes to some weighty understandings about his mother and their relationship.

I can vouch for Starkey’s Mass Effect media blackout during GDC earlier this year and while he didn’t give me all these details, my minute friend’s deep love for the series was evident. Also, you see that Gameranx byline of his? Let’s speculate what the “C.” stands for! I say “chiasmus.” Or maybe “celery.” “Cornelius?” (Good job, homie!)

Today, the sprightly Jim Sterling review the ill named Transformers Prime: The Game, the incipient Steven Hansen enjoyed Lara’s cute boots — yes, boots — in the Tomb Raider reboot, we started a contest for tickets to Ümloud!
