Can you assemble a PC in under four minutes?
Can you assemble a computer under 4 minutes and 3 seconds (and not have it explode)? The new all-time record for TigerDirect's Charity PC Race was shattered by in Damian Muzzi, who moves onto the finals next year in Las Vegas during the Consumer Electronics Show. Aside from airfare and hotel to sin city, Damian won $500 and donated $500 to the Delaware SPCA. Andrew Snyder came in second with a time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds. I think it takes me roughly about that time to figure out in which direction a memory stick goes into the slot. Good job, gentlemen.
Want to take these guys on in Vegas? There are three more semi-finals coming up, and we'll be broadcasting live from the next one! Join King Foom in Chicago next weekend, December 8, at the TigerDirect Outlet store in Hoffman Estates. Builder tickets are sold out but you can still come watch the showdown at no cost. The schedule and other races follow:
Here's the video from Miami's PC race:
TigerDirect has donated over $2.5 million in computer equipment to schools and non-profits since the event's inception. The races are free to watch, no press passes or tickets are necessary, so please come on down and help us support a worthy cause. The next races take place at regional TigerDirect Outlet stores - check the above links for location and times.
[Disclosure: Destructoid is a partial sponsor of TigerDirect's PC Race and we want to steal all of the puppies from the benefiting SPCA. Join us for the finals at CES next January in Las Vegas, baby!]
